Skyrim offers a lot when it comes to vanilla weapons and armor, but with such a strong modding community, there's reason to go a step further. Talented mod creators have cranked out some truly spectacular weapon and armor mods that can personalize one's play experience for the better.

It's a fairly vanilla-friendly improvement to the armor design to make it more appealing to use in the game. It might seem like a simple mod, but any attempt to make this iconic armor set more viable in the game is something fans will cherish.

A lot of the in-game vanilla armor in Skyrim isn't exactly befitting of a Dragonborn, and it takes a special kind of armor mod to set oneself apart. The Gifts of Akatosh is a mod that seeks to make the Dragonborn stand out from everyone else in the game with a striking design.

And this custom armor mod by Letstryagain tweaks the vanilla armor by removing some parts, and reducing others in size, so that way the armor hugs the body and actually looks lightweight.

Most body replacers include or have optional add-on mesh replacements to fix vanilla Oblivion clothing and armor so they will fit the new body shape. They often also offer mesh replacements for custom armor and clothing added by popular overhaul mods like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, Martigen's Monster Mod, and Francesco's Leveled Creatures-Items.

Fortunately, this problem can be solved fairly easily by using the Import Graphics feature of Wrye Bash's Bashed Patch. To use this feature, you will need to place the body replacer clothing/armor plugins very early in your load order (like before UOP) and mark them with the Import Graphics tag -- BASH:Graphics. After doing this, you can "activate" the plugin in the Import Graphics section of the Bashed Patch config. See Bashed Patches for details.
